This Class addresses tax assessment in CA. -how taxes were historically determined and how our system works today. It will introduce you the basics of an Assessment Appeal including the process a property owner follows to appeal an assessment and to the nuts and bolts of appraising for an Assessment Appeal Hearing. Greg Walsh is the Chief Deputy Assessor in the Sonoma County Clerk-Recorder-Assessor's Office. He is responsible for overseeing the entire operations of the Assessor Division. Over the last 18 years in this Assessor's Office, Greg has held the positions of Appraiser IV, supervising both a Residential and Commercial Team, and Chief Appraiser. With the number of homes lost to the North Bay Fires, learning about this process can provide you with the tools you need to value properties that have been affected should you be asked to appraise the property for an Appeal's Hearing.
Instructor: Greg Walsh - Chief Deputy Assessor, Sonoma County
